An excellent advanced pianist able to bring his own conception to straight-ahead jazz, Les Czimber considers it a miracle that he ever made it to the United States. He discovered jazz in communist Hungary by listening to the Voice of America broadcasts and as a teenager he led a band in Budapest. After the revolution failed, Czimber escaped from Hungary by walking all night through the snow to Yugoslavia. A few months later, he moved to the United States. He has worked with many of the jazz greats including Al Jarreau and bassist John Patitucci and displays a style influenced by, but not derivative of, Bill Evans.

John Chapman

String Bassist John Chapman is a freelance musician and adjunct faculty member at Phoenix College. He studied music at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Arizona State University. John preforms regularly with Les Czimber on Friday and Saturday nights at Dahl and DiLuca in Sedona.

Larry Kantor, drum set.
