Now that Turkey Day is over, you can get serious about planning how you are going to spend your precious few holiday moments. Please be sure to write this special event in your calendar:

Chaparral MusicFest's
Holiday Sing-a-Long
Sunday, December 20, 2009
3:00 to 6:00 PM

Hosted at historic 310 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue and spiced up by some of your favorite local musical personalities!

You can bring your family, your voice, an instrument or just a desire to listen in on some fine old-fashioned music-making.  To make the afternoon even more merry, you can enjoy the complimentary pot luck, send the kids upstairs to make an ornament and finish up your holiday shopping  by joining  raffles on art and gift items from local artists.

Proceeds from warm beverages and raffles will benefit Chaparral MusicFest's 2010 Season.

A word from the incomparable Jen Harvey who hosted and performed at last year's sing-a-long:

"If you are not familiar with the Chaparral MusicFest, it is an amazing program unique to Arizona.  It brings nationally recognized musicians to our little town in multiple venues over a 2 week period each summer.  Also, there is usually a percussion camp as well as string academy for children.

Last year, the Sing a Long was an incredible experience.   We had so many local musicians contribute their talents for an irresistible night filled with Christmas spirit.  It made the holidays for me (and many others, I suspect)."

PS.  Thank you, RoJean Madsen, for generously offering your home for this festive event. Three cheers for RoJean!
